1) I think we should meet at the MLK library at 1030 in our scrubs (other than Rueben). Its late enough for people to kinda sleep in but early enough so we wont have food coma... (also I have work at 430 but I don't think it will take us that long to finish).
2) I will invite Debbie tonight/today to join our Wikki so she can see what we are up to
3) For topics of substance abuse, I was reading on one of the journal articles that marijuana and tobacco were the top 1&2 (respectively) abused drugs... so I thought maybe those 2 would be good to cover. So if we can vote on here by Thurs to see which 2 drugs we need to focus on that would be great! Also, I don't know if I would like to do alcohol just because I am already doing that for my individual paper but I will change it if needed.
4) Powerpoint sounds good! I like the idea of being organized =)

Hey everybody,
This is marvie Things to do List:
1. Meet with Deborah (Wiki or in person)
We can meet up with Debbie on April 8th in class after the first two groups present. It should only be about 5-10 minutes where we tell her about what we are doing what we accomplished, etc.
2. Decide what to do:
a. Substance abuse: *powerpoint with a summary of each types of substance abuse
Anna and I though we should do a simple powerpoint for the lecture part of our presentation just so its organized and it flows smoothly. We could talk about two different types of substances such as meth and alcohol, discuss it's effect on the mother, fetus and eventually newborn/infant and then add our case study.
b. *our video of the case study: a young women who is pregnant but choose to party and not have any prenatal care.
*The sense: a young mother is at a party and is overdose and she is rush to the emergancy room. the nurse does a physical and we find out that she is putting a lot of risk to the baby. (please feel free to add more to our video- im not sure what happens next)

Sounds good. We just need to do the case study. Since we established I will be the mother we can have two nurses, a doctor, a family member/friend (mother, husband), a or even a therapist. Im sure we can do the case study really fast on Thursday (within 30 minutes) unless someone wants to start on it before then. We really need props for the video. I have a wig. Can someone bring a pillow (for my stomach). Everyone bring your scrubs since we have not decided who the nurses will be. I will bring the camera. If you think of anything else bring it. If we decide to just use the video Marvie provided I'm down, but will Debbie be okay with this because we did not do anything to make the video.
c. I was also thinking we can add a slideshow of pictures of babies from mothers with substance abuse with sad music so we can have an emotion feel to our presentation. haha that was just a thought.
Sounds good we should add anything that can kill time because our presentation is needs to be 30 minutes long.
3. Meet up to video tape the case study (possibly meet this thurday @ 12pm??? {does that time work with everyone? we can meet earlier if you want. I dont care.}April 1 in MLK)
